BBC America to Chronicle Doctor Who's Debut in TV-Movie Starring Brian Cox, Harry Potter Actor

BBC America, as part of a larger plan to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, is co-producing a TV-movie chronicling the series’ genesis and the Time Lord’s maiden voyage on Nov. 23, 1963.

In An Adventure in Space and Time, David Bradley (aka the Harry Potter films’ Argus Filch) will portray William Hartnell, the series’ first Doctor (pictured), while Brian Cox (The Bourne Identity) will play Sydney Newman, the BBC’s Head of Drama credited with the creation of the show.
