American Idol Bosses Shrug Off Nicki/Mariah Feud, Defend 'Passionate, Dynamic' Judges Panel

The producers of American Idol released a statement on Friday evening responding to the reported feud between the show’s new judges, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

“This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we’ve ever had,” reads the official comment. “We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can’t imagine a better group to find the next American Idol.”

Earlier this week, video surfaced on TMZ of Carey and Minaj throwing insults at each other and cussing.

The producers, however, maintain that “despite all the accusations and media speculation – much of which is inaccurate — production is going extremely well today [on Friday] and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge.”

Idol is slated to return midseason.
