‘American Horror Story’ Writer Reveals Season 4 Will Be Set at a Carnival

American Horror Story” fans are finally getting some answers after writer Douglas Petrie let it slip in a Nerdist writer’s panel podcast that the new season will be set at a carnival.

While there had been some speculation that the fourth season of the popular FX horror series would take place at a circus, Petrie set the record straight when another podcast guest said she heard the new season was set at a carnival.

“Yes,” he confirmed. “It doesn’t have a title, but that’s the idea. Very roughly, that’s the idea.”

Not much else is known about the new season, but stars Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson are both involved. Series co-creator Ryan Murphy has told The Hollywood Reporter that Lange “has always wanted to play a Marlene Dietrich figure, and now she gets to.” Murphy also revealed some clues to Entertainment Weekly, telling the mag, “We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited!”

“American Horror Story” is expected to return for its fourth season in October.
