Alec Baldwin Bids Farewell to '30 Rock' and Jack Donaghy on Twitter

Thursday was Alec Baldwin's last day as Jack Donaghy on "30 Rock." And he already misses portraying television's funniest NBC executive.

The actor tweeted a picture of himself holding a bouquet of flowers while leaning against his desk in the fictional corporate office.

"Last day at the office for Jack," he wrote.

But if Baldwin had his way, Jack would gladly return to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to continue to interfere with Liz Lemon's sketch show for days to come.

"Waiting for the call. From the Governor," he tweeted hours before posting the somber picture. "That '30 Rock' isn't over."

Upon learning that the critically-acclaimed comedy was only being renewed for an abbreviated seventh and final season last spring, he offered to take a salary cut to save it.

"I offered NBC to cut my pay 20% in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of '30 Rock,'" he announced in October. "I realize times have changed."

Jack's last day at the office airs in the "30 Rock" series finale on Jan. 31.
