Al Jazeera America has tapped former CNN executive producer Kim Bondy to oversee a new nighly one-hour current affairs magazine program called "America Tonight."

The news channel is scheduled to launch later this year. "America Tonight" will air at 9 p.m. and will look at issues related to the economy, education, healthcare and the environment, as well as breaking news.

Bondy previously served as vice president of morning programming at CNN, where she oversaw "American Morning with Soledad O'Brien and Miles O'Brien."  She has also held executive and senior producing positions at "The Today Show" and "Weekend Today."

In addition to Bondy, who will be "America Tonight's" senior executive producer, the program has tapped Adam May, Lori Jane Gliha and Christof Putzel to serve as national correspondents.

May joins Al Jazeera America from Baltimore's CBS affiliate, WJZ-13, where he was the weekend anchor.  Gliha is an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter who most recently worked at ABC15 in Phoenix.  Putzel most recently was the senior correspondent for Vanguard, Current TV's investigative documentary series.
