ACLU to 'Modern Family': Let's Get Mitch and Cam Married Already!

We can picture it.

Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) are negotiating the song choice of their first dance as a married couple as Manny (Rico Rodriguez) prepares to officiate, because he'd be so good at that. Claire (Julie Bowen) is planning the wedding, even though a professional wedding planner is, you know, doing that. And Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) refuses to attend the wedding unless she can wear a big white dress.

Well, the American Civil Liberties Union can picture it, too, and they have launched a serious and seriously sweet campaign to urge the producers to write the wedding into the show.

You can RSVP for the wedding at ModernFamilyWedding.com, and the ACLU in turn will assure the producers that this episode will have a huge guest list. (No word on canapes and an open bar.)

The producers were not available for comment, but Ferguson, who plays Cam, posted a snapshot of the website to Instagram and tweeted his enthusiasm:

Let's hope so.
