The ABC Family series debuted in 2008, averaging 3.51 million viewers in its first season. The first half of Season 5 saw record lows, with only 1.06 million tuning in for the Aug. 13 episode, while 1.54 tuned in for the midseason finale on Aug. 27. The series did, however, make a star out of Shailene Woodley, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in The Descendants.

As previously announced, ABC Family also axed Jane by Design this summer, while Switched at Birth, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy and Pretty Little Liars were all renewed. The network also ordered additional episodes of Bunheads.
