ABC Eyeing Damage Control Comedy Series, Inspired By Marvel Comics

If your lingering thought after watching The Avengers was, “But who’s going to clean up that mess in New York City?,” ABC’s latest project is perfect for you.

The Alphabet Net has given a put pilot commitment to Damage Control, a live-action comedy series based on the Marvel comic books of the same name.

According to our sister site Deadline, the potential series follows the overworked, underpaid clean-up crew of the Marvel Universe, those who specialize in dealing with the unique aftermath of superhero conflicts. The Damage Control team is responsible for returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, or rescheduling wedding venues after they’ve been vaporized in an epic battle.

The half-hour, single-camera project is being developed by Ben Karlin (The Daily Show), who will also write and executive-produce with David Miner and Marvel Television boss Jeph Loeb.
