5 Things to Know About Birthday Gals and 'Sam & Cat' Stars Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande

Chances are you've heard the names Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande. Whether that's because you have a tween in your family or perhaps because you really love Nickelodeon's original series, you may be surprised to learn that the two actresses on "Sam & Cat" (a spin-off of the actresses' now-wrapped shows "iCarly" and "Victorious") actually share a birthday!

Today, as we celebrate Jennette's 21st and Ariana's 20th, we're excited to share with you a few little-known facts about the incredibly popular TV celebs.

1. Both Ariana and Jennette are pursuing solo music careers.

Let's start small. For fans of the co-stars, this tidbit of news will be no surprise.

In June of last year, Jennette released a self-titled country album, and it included many songs that she co-wrote. The album was released by Capitol Records Nashville; soon afterward, Jennette left the label and shifted her focus back to her television career. At the time, she was still working on "iCarly," which ran until November 2012.

According to her post on Twitter, Ariana finished recording her album, after having spent several years working on it, on June 23. It is set for release in August by Republic Records. Several of the songs have already been released by Ariana via Keek and Twitcam broadcasts.

2. Jennette gives some of her friends, including Ariana, funny nicknames ...

... and she's not shy about using them in public. She's mentioned Ariana's nickname on Twitter, referring to her as Oreo.

She's also reportedly given nicknames to fellow "iCarly" stars Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress. The names, respectively, being Cosmos and Kressington.

3. Jennette once revealed Ariana's phone number during a live-stream chat.

To hear the girls talking about it themselves, watch here:

During a Ustream chat, Jennette called Ariana at the request of her fans. Ariana didn't answer the call, but her voicemail greeting at the time included her phone number. Jennette didn't realize what she had done until after the number played out loud and clear for everyone to hear — and text.

Ariana changed her phone number, of course, but the story lives on in fan history!

4. Both girls are known for their popular musical covers on YouTube.

We know that Jennette and Ariana are both singers, but did you know that they also have massive followings on YouTube for their covers of other artists' songs?

Watch the video of Jennette singing "Home Sweet Home" below:

Jennette's performance of Carrie Underwood's cover of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" has received more than 3.4 million views on her personal channel. She has also covered "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts and "Right as Rain" by Adele, both of which have received plenty of views, as well. To see more of Jennette's videos, click here.

See Ariana singing "Rolling in the Deep" here:

Ariana's music career is just kicking off, with her first CD release coming up soon, but she's already received 37.5 million views on her cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Her other covers are incredibly popular, too! Her version of Justin Bieber's "Die in Your Arms" has reached over 5.2 million views, and her cover of Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie" is at 3.7 million views. And those only scratch the surface of her presence on the video-sharing site. To view more of Ariana's videos, click here.

5. Ariana's and Jennette's fandoms have given themselves special names.

Now that you've read these five facts about Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande, perhaps you're interested in becoming a self-proclaimed fan of the girls yourself! Well, it's your lucky day, because you'll be joining a large group of admirers who have come together to form their own fandoms.

Jennette's fans often refer to themselves as McCurdians, in an obvious play on her last name. Ariana's fans are a bit less unified. Though they often call themselves Arianators, they're also known as the Ariana Army and Tiny Elephants.

We wish the stars of "Sam & Cat" a happy birthday and many more years of happiness and success!
