'Project Runway All Stars' Episode 4 preview: A designer talks about his cancer battle [Exclusive video]

In the "Made in the USA Today" episode of "Project Runway All Stars," the designers are given images submitted by "USA Today" readers and must use the photos to create a fabulous frock.

But all star Anthony Ryan Auld returning from Season 9 tells mentor and Cosmo editor Joanna Coles that his photo, with the headline "Always Moving Forward," has extra inspiration for him following his battle with cancer.

"I was diagnosed with cancer, and that whole time I was doing chemo, I maintained a full school schedule, because doing this [design] is what really brought me a positive outlook," says Auld.

"Designing and fashion is what I relied on when I had cancer. It wasn't family or friends or doctors … it was myself and design."

Auld first revealed his battle with testicular cancer during his time on "Project Runway," and joked that he was "rockin' one ball" after treatment for the disease.

The Louisiana-raised designer is one of 10 contestants left in the "All Stars" competition. He and his fellow fashionistas will face guest judges Charlotte Ronson and Tavi Gevinson in the "Made in the USA Today" installment.

"Project Runway All Stars" airs on Thursdays at 9 PM on Lifetime.
