Ryan Murphy needs to make room on his mantle for another award.

The Emmy-winning TV mogul has been tapped to receive the Distinguished Artisan Award at the annual Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706).

The black-tie gala - honoring the outstanding achievements of both make-up artists and hair stylists in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater - will be held Feb. 19 at The Novo by Microsoft at L.A. Live.

In making Thursday's announcement, Susan Cabral-Ebert, president of IATSE Local 706, praised Murphy for always showing strong support for make-up artists and hair stylists. Though she didn't single out specific projects, Murphy's résumé shows how supportive he has been with such projects as American Horror Story, Glee, Nip/Tuck and the recent Emmy star The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

"We're excited to bestow our 2017 Distinguished Artisan Award on Ryan Murphy, who constantly raises the bar and challenges the skills of our members to their utmost abilities when delineating his television characters," said Cabral-Ebert.

Additional award winners, including MUAHS Lifetime Achievement Awards recipients, will be announced shortly.
