Rosario Dawson Joins Epix Documentary Series ‘America Divided’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Rosario Dawson has joined Epix’s upcoming documentary series “America Divided.” Dawson will be featured as a correspondent in a segment about the water crisis in Flint, Mich. Dawson will profile the citizen scientists who first identified the existence of lead in the city’s water supply. She will also investigate the political decision to switch the city’s water supply from Lake Huron and the Detroit River to the Flint River, a decision that precipitated the crisis.

Production on Dawson’s segment is set to begin this month.

Executive produced by Norman Lear, Shonda Rhimes and Common, “America Divided” is a four-and-a-half-hour series that follows high-profile correspondents exploring subjects related to inequality and their own personal backgrounds. Among the correspondents are Lear, Common, America Ferrera, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Peter Sarsgaard and Jesse Williams.

Solly Granatstein (“Years Of Living Dangerously,” “60 Minutes”), Lucian Read (“Years of Living Dangerously,” 99%), Richard Rowley (Dirty Wars, “Years of Living Dangerously”), Jon Kamen (The Fog of War, Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory), Justin Wilkes (What Happened, Miss Simone?, Under African Skies) and Dave O’Connor (Whitey: The United States v. James J. Bulger, You Don’t Know Bo) also serve as executive producers on the series. Co-executive producers are Nicole Dow and Derek Dudley (Freedom Road Productions), and Brent Miller (“Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You”).
