Robert Downey Jr. Shows 'Emotions' in 'Tonight Show' Interview

There’s no questioning Robert Downey Jr.’s acting talents. Aside from his turn as Tony Stark in both the Iron Man and Avengers franchises, the guy’s got a couple Oscar nominations. Yet RDJ proved he was even more of a champion thespian when he played a game that showed off his acting chops on Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In a segment branded “Tonight Show Emotional Interview,” Downey Jr. and host Jimmy Fallon had to alter the way they talked to each other in a conversation depending on what words popped up on screen. For instance, when “Annoyingly Philosophical” was displayed, Robert gave a stellar impression of the annoying teen you know who just took his first college class on philosophy. Maybe the best performance he gave was for “total lack of confidence.” Somehow, the actor who we’ve all come to celebrate for his brazen ego managed to come across as insecure as he whimpered, “I don’t even know why you still have me on this show when I think about it.”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35pm on NBC.
