RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Voice’ & ‘Golden Boy’ Hit New Lows, ‘Hart Of Dixie’ Finale Even, ‘Splash’, ‘NCIS: LA’ & ‘DWTS’ Up

There was lot of reality and two finales in primetime Tuesday night. ABC’s struggling Splash (1.0/3) took its final dive for the season as the three remaining celeb finalists got wet for the pool crown. The freshman unscripted show was up 11% from last week’s season low. Also on ABC, a live Dancing With The Stars (1.7/4) results show saw this season’s last pair eliminated before moving into the semifinal rounds and the May 21 finale. Like Splash, DWTS was up from a low, rising 13% from April 30’s series low. Pre-empted last week by an ABC News special, Body Of Proof (1.4/4) returned to end the night, down 13% from its last original April 23. On the CW, Hart Of Dixie (0.5/2) wrapped up its second season, with the recently renewed drama even with last week’s show with a 4% rise in viewers.

It was night 2 of the live playoff round on The Voice (3.6/10) on Tuesday. Coming off Monday’s fast nationals season low, which rose in final numbers, Team Shakira and Team Blake took to the stage in the two-hour show as did their coaches on a duet of a Lady Antebellum tune. Still, The Voice declined again, dipping 8% from last week’s final numbers to hit a new season low. The singing series was down from the 3.7 of April 30’s fast national and the 3.9 the show drew in that night’s final numbers. Of course, as happened on Monday, those numbers could see an adjustment upward once the final ratings come in later. In its second week on Tuesdays, Grimm (1.9/5) was flat with last week. NBC won the night in adults 18-49, but CBS was tops in total viewers with 12.380 million.

On CBS, NCIS (2.9/9) was the most-watched show of the night with 16.99 million viewers. Still, the procedural dipped 6% from last week. Its spinoff NCIS: LA (2.4/6) was up 9% from its April 30 show. Freshman Golden Boy (1.2/3) lost its ratings footing again to slip 8% from last week to hit a Tuesday airing low.

With heavy reality competition on NBC and ABC, Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen (1.9/6) was down a slight 5% from last week’s yellfest. The New Girl (2.1/5) rose by the same amount from its April 30 show and The Mindy Project (1.3/3) was even with last week.
