RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Voice’ & ‘Castle’ Gain; ’90210′ & ‘Gossip Girl’ Return Low

The Voice made a successful transition from the blind auditions to the battle rounds with a 4.7/12 among adults 18-49 in the fast nationals last night, up a tenth from last Monday. Newly picked up Revolution (3.1/8) shed another tenth for its lowest-rated fast national to date. NBC won every hour of primetime to win the night in 18-49 and total viewers. This is the first time NBC has won the first three Mondays of the season in people meter history (since at least 1987).

We may have seen the last of Fox’s The Mob Doctor, at least for a while. The freshman dropped again last night to a 0.9/2 in 18-49, testing the limits on how low a show on a major network can go before being yanked. Mob Doctor as well as its lead-in, Bones (2.0/5, down a tenth), will be pre-empted for baseball for the next three weeks. It remains to be seen whether Mob Doctor comes back after that.

CBS’ fast-nationals may be inflated by an NFL pre-emption in Houston, which scored big ratings. With that in mind, CBS’ Monday lineup was up in the fast nationals from last week with the exception of How I Met Your Mother (3.2/9, down a tenth) as a game’s impact gets stronger as the night progresses. Freshman Partners (2.2/6) was up a tenth, 2 Broke Girls and Hawaii Five-0 were up three tenths from their fast national last Monday; Mike & Molly was up two tenths.

ABC’s Dancing With The Stars (2.1/5) was flat, while Castle (2.2/6) was up three tenths from last week to again tie Hawaii Five-0 in the hour.

After solid season premieres for Hart Of Dixie and Supernatural, the CW hit a low note last night with the returns of 90210 (0.5/1 in 18-49), down 44% from last fall’s opener, and Gossip Girl (0.4/1), down 43%.
