RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Under The Dome’ & ‘Bachelorette’ Even, ‘Siberia’ Down, ‘Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls’ Dips
Things really started getting heated Under The Dome (2.7/8) last night as an epidemic broke out and the residents of Chester’s Mill began to attack the barrier separating them from the rest of the world. While all that was going on onscreen, the night’s top rated and most watched show (10.80 million) stayed even with its July 8 show. Other than the Stephen King and Steven Spielberg produced Dome, it was all encores on CBS last night. Still, the network was tops on Monday in both adults 18-49 and total viewers with 6.72 million watching
Over on NBC in the same time slot as Dome, Siberia (0.8/2) fell further on the ratings ice. The faux reality drama was down 11% from last week’s show to hit its lowest result since its July 2 soft debut. The second week of NBC’s new Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls (1.4/5) saw more mountain climbing, food foraging and other survival challenges on the 9 PM reality series. Dipping 7% from its premiere last week, Get Out also sent two contestants packing last night. The show held on to 93% of its July 7 debut last to emerge as the best second week result for a freshman reality series this summer. Down 6% from last week, American Ninja Warrior (1.5/5) started off NBC’s primetime on Monday.
There was Hometown dates and a sibling reunion on The Bachelorette (1.9/6) last night. Of course, looking-for-love Desiree Hartsock also sent a suitor home as the second highest rated show of the night was flat with last week’s episode. Following the two-hour Bachelorette, freshman drama Mistresses (1.1/3) slipped 8% from its July 8 show to hit a new demo low.
Fox was all repeats on Monday.
With performances from Miley Cyrus, Pitbull and Ke$ha, the CW aired The IHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party from 8 PM to 10 PM on Monday. The pre-taped show, which had occurred in Miami on June 29, garnered a tepid 0.2/1 rating and only 730,000 viewers.
