The ABC program, which took off with 10.87 million aboard, scored a 2.5 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds Sunday night, a 19 percent fall from last week's 3.1, Nielsen overnights showed.
As often happens on Sundays, numbers were skewed by a football overrun on CBS; still, the final 20 minutes of The Good Wife and then CSI: Miami grabbed 10.45 million and a 2.2 demo rating in prime time's final hour against the new 1960s drama about stewardesses.
Prime time's first hour saw the season premiere of America's Funniest Home Videos get off to its lowest-rated season debut in its history, attracting 6.44 million viewers (1.5 demo rating — a 21 percent decline), while the football overrun and 60 Minutes — featuring Andy Rooney's swan song — grabbed 17.43 million (4.5). In the same time slot, Football Night in America and animated reruns on Fox garnered 8.09 million and 5.43 million, respectively.
Despite a lopsided win by the Baltimore Ravens over the New York Jets, NBC's Sunday Night Football averaged 17.65 million fans (7.3). That was down 11 percent from 2010's Week 4 game, but still the second-highest for Week 4 in the NBC franchise's six-year history.
From 8 to 10 on Fox, the animation block underwent the Week 2 decline: The Simpsons, 6.12 million viewers (3.0); The Cleveland Show, 5.47 million (2.6); Family Guy, 6.91 million (3.5); and American Dad! 5.71 million (2.7).
