The O.C. went off the air after four seasons in 2007, but with the recent revivals of cult TV shows like Arrested Development and Veronica Mars, fans of the teen soap are clamoring for a reunion. Rachel Bilson, who played Summer Roberts on the FOX hit, told Us Weekly she'd be willing to reprise her role if her former costars signed on.
"If everyone wanted to do it, I'm sure it would be fun," the star said at the July 23 premiere of her new movie, The To Do List, in Westwood, Calif.
When asked if she's kept in touch with her former colleagues, the 31-year-old actress replied, "Just Josh Schwartz, who was the creator." (Bilson guest starred on the screenwriter/producer's NBC series Chuck in 2007; she also made a cameo in the series finale of The CW's Gossip Girl, which Schwartz co-created with Stephanie Savage.)
If a reunion were to happen, Bilson might need some assistance changing costar Ben McKenzie's mind. "I don't know that we'd really ever do an O.C. movie," the 34-year-old actor told MTV News in 2010. "I think most people have moved on." (McKenzie played reformed bad boy Ryan Atwood on the series; he went on to star in TNT's Southland, which was canceled earlier this year after five seasons.)
Mischa Barton -- whose character, Marissa Cooper, was killed off in the third season finale -- echoed McKenzie's sentiments. "I don't think that any of us are looking to do an O.C. reunion. . .I just don't think that we'd be able to get one together," she told MTV News. "But if we did it would be cool. It definitely would be really different."
Adam Brody's take on a reunion? "I will never be on it, but I hope they bring it back," he told The Boston Herald in 2008. (Brody has been focused on his film career in recent years; he will next appear in the movies Lovelace and Baggage Claim.)
"It would be like going back to high school or college," Brody, 33, added. "But I would be totally thrilled if they did it."
