‘Quarry’ First Look: Where Is the Broker Taking Mac?
Every episode of Cinemax’s new crime drama Quarry feels like it could be the last for any of the main characters, but in “Coffee Blues,” the fifth installment of the series’ eight-episode first season, we hit a new level of tension and danger for Mac Conway (Logan Marshall-Green).
In the exclusive preview above, Mac is behind the wheel as the Broker (Peter Mullan) — the leader of the crime syndicate who has Mac working off some debt by using the killing skills he learned during his two tours in Vietnam — is giving him directions to … where?

We don’t know where, and neither does Mac — but you don’t need to have seen a single frame of the series to get the ominousness of Mac’s road trip along the dark highway. Especially when the Broker reminds Mac of something he’d said earlier, on the night he killed wife Joni’s (Jodi Balfour) lover: “Death is just a switch that gets turned off.”
