'Pretty Little Liars': 7 Promises From Alison Herself, Sasha Pieterse

When last we saw the lovelies of Pretty Little Liars, things were looking pretty darn dire. Like, so bad, maybe they should consider renaming the show Pretty Darn Dire. And, if everything we’ve heard and seen so far is to believe, Tuesday’s Season 6 premiere isn’t about to get much sunnier.

In fact, Sasha Pieterse, who plays Alison DiLaurentis, promises us this is the “darkest season” yet. When pressed further, the actress made a few other ominous promises about the upcoming “season of answers.”

1. Charles may have Emily, Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Mona, but he really wants Ali.
“Alison is who Charles wants. Charles wants her in the dollhouse and wants her to be there. She’s the cherry on top. She’s his precious jewel, and it’s really eerie to see how he thinks and how hyper-intelligent he is and how he’s able to do all of the things that he does. His obsession level is insane.”

2. Ali and Charles are definitely related.
“Charles is definitely in the DiLaurentis family, but I can’t say where or how he’s placed in that family. … I can tell you that Alison had no idea who Charles was. This season, there’s a lot of development in Alison’s family, and she’s trying to figure out why she had no idea about him and why no one told her who Charles was. She deals with a lot of her own demons.”

3. The “season of answers” thing we keep hearing is no joke.
“There is nothing left out. [Executive producer I. Marlene King] is going to cover everything. … Coming into this season, I was really excited about Charles and wanting to know what to expect with him. Now we’ve filmed eight, almost nine episodes, and I’ve definitely gotten answers.”

4. The upcoming four-year time jump is happening sometime after the eighth episode.
“[When it’s happening] is a surprise. We haven’t filmed it yet.”

5. Romance is coming for Ali.
“Alison finally has a love interest this season. I don’t know how happy Emison fans are going to be, but I think it’s going to be a fun change for her.”

6. Janel Parrish does the best non-Sasha version of Ali, and there’s much more of it coming.
“I think all of us hate the yellow top just as much. We’re all ready to burn it. Mona does such a weird, cool, eerie version of Ali… not just because of Mona’s history with Ali, but because of what she looks like with blond hair and just how stoic she is and how real she’s playing it. It kinda makes your skin crawl a little bit. You’ll see a lot more of that in our premiere.”

7. You’re going to want to hold on to your hats for every single episode.
“Everything’s very intense then bam! You don’t get a rest at all in this season. … No one’s going to have room to breathe. [With only 20 episodes this season], we can go full-blast and intense, and really dive into what Marlene has been wanting to tell for so long.”

Pretty Little Liars Season 6 premieres Tuesday, June 2 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
