President Obama Gets Job Interview Advice From Stephen Colbert

On Monday’s The Late Show, Stephen Colbert helped outgoing President Obama interview for his next job. Colbert assumed the role of an HR person unfamiliar with the president; he pointed out that Obama had not gotten any promotions in eight years of his previous job. The president replied: “There wasn’t a lot of room for advancement in my last job. The only one in a more powerful position was my wife.”

However, President Obama did go over some of his accomplishments, like his work on global warming. Colbert “improved” those accomplishments by saying that he was “proficient in Microsoft Excel.”

Then President Obama was asked about his biggest flaw. He responded, “Sometimes … when I talk … I take … too many pauses.”

He then explained that his biggest hobby was encouraging people to vote. Colbert asked, “So no whittling or anything like that?”

The Late Show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
