'Please Like Me' Sneak Peek: Cue Johnzilla
Please Like Me, the Aussie comedy now in its third season on Pivot, is known for many things: not shying away from issues normally reserved for dramas (mental health, divorce, an unexpected pregnancy); Josh (played by creator Josh Thomas) showing his support through cooking and baking; surprising uses of music (last episode’s “Someone Like You” singalong to honor the late rooster Adele before they ate “her,” for instance); and, of course, John, Josh’s dog.

In tonight’s episode, “Pancakes with Faces,” John literally gets his closeup when Tom (Tom Ward) and Ella (Emily Barclay) decide to dress him up as “Johnzilla” to film him crushing an impressive cardboard Metropolis. As you can see from the exclusive clip below, it does not go according to plan, and not everyone is impressed. As Claire (Caitlin Stasey) tells Tom, “You should show a video of this activity to all the new people that you meet, and then you’ll never have to explain why you were never popular.”
Please Like Me airs Fridays at 10 p.m. on Pivot.
