Danielle Fishel (Topanga) tweeted this shot
of her and Ben Savage's (Cory) hands, complete with wedding rings. "Girl Meets World" picks back up in Topanga and Cory's lives 13 years after "Boy Meets World
" ended; they got married during the series' final season. Now they have a daughter, Riley (the titular character, played by Rowan Blachard) and a son, Elliot (Teo Halm). In the spinoff, these two happily married lovebirds will be helping their daughter navigate the challenges of growing up.
In real life, Savage and Fishel's relationship wasn't quite as romantic. In a 2012 interview
, Savage addressed his lack of off-screen chemistry with Fishel: "We were very, very good friends but when you grow up with someone since the time you're 11 years old, and you see each other go through some pretty awkward years, by the time you both hit 20, you don't really want to date or anything." More recently, Fishel commented on the rumors
that she and Savage have a real-life romance: "That rumor was entirely my fault because I once said, on 'The Tyra Banks Show,' that Ben and I went on a date, and that turned into 'Danielle and Ben dated.' We went on one date, when I was about 15, and by the time the dinner was over, we realized mutually that we were more like family than lovers."
Savage has been tight-lipped about his real-life relationships. Fishel has been linked to Matthew Lawrence (who played Jack, the half-brother of Rider Strong's Shawn Hunter, on "BMW"), Lance Bass, and Devon Sawa. She's now engaged to Tim Belusko.
