'Peanuts' First Look: Look out, Snoopy! Lucy's Feeling 'Mean'!

If you greeted the news of Boomerang’s new animated Peanuts series with joy, then this first look clip will make you happier than a warm puppy. Based on storylines from Charles Shultz’s classic comic strips, the new Peanuts series — which will air daily — consists of several animated vignettes tied together with Snoopy-centric bumpers. In the clip above, Snoopy risks the wrath of a cranky Lucy Van Pelt by giving her a sloppy wet kiss — and we all know how Lucy feels about dog germs.

Unfortunately for Lucy, Snoopy doesn’t quit even after she surrenders, and then the unthinkable happens. (We love you, Snoopy, but we’re with Lucy — touching tongues with a dog is pretty gross.)

As you’ll see from the photos below, Boomerang’s take on the Peanuts has a pastel-hued, watercolor style that evokes the Sunday funny papers. (Anyone remember those? Look it up, kids.)
