Patrick Warburton Is Lemony Snicket In Netflix’s ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’
Netflix has tapped Patrick Warburton to star as narrator Lemony Snicket in its series adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events. The project, from Paramount TV, is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Snicket was voiced by Jude Law in the 2004 feature. Warburton, who also will appear on camera, joins previously cast Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, and Louis Hynes.
The eight-episode series recounts the tale of the orphaned children Violet (Weissman), Klaus (Hynes) and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf (Harris), as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ deaths.
The project reunites Warburton with Sonnenfeld, who was an executive producer of Fox’s 2001 The Tick, in which Warburton starred as the title character. Warburton is expected to serve as an executive producer on Amazon’s Tick revival, which has been given a pilot order. He also stars in NBC’s new comedy series Crowded, which is set to premiere March 20. He is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment, ICM and John LaViolette .
