Joe Manganiello Out, Oliver Hudson In on Fox’s ‘Scream Queens’

There’s been a quick change among one of the leading men on Ryan Murphy’s “Scream Queens” series, which just began filming in New Orleans.

“True Blood’s” Joe Manganiello has been replaced as a series regular by Oliver Hudson, who is now on ABC’s “Nashville.”

According to Fox, Manganiello had to bow out because of his commitment to promote “Magic Mike XXL” later this year. The actor had yet to begin filming any scenes, so Hudson was recruited to fill the role.

“Scream Queens” is a horror-comedy revolving around a group of students on a college campus rocked by a series of murders. The project received a straight-to-series order last fall. The idea is that the series will be rebooted each season in anthology form.

The “Glee” combo of Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are shepherding “Scream Queens” as writers and exec producers for 20th Century Fox TV.
