Oh My God: Watch the Best NBA Slam Dunk Contest Ever (Video)

If you missed Saturday’s 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, you missed (presumably) mortal men fly.

Defending champion Zach LaVine eventually took home the trophy, but he had to fend off some incredible competition from Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic. Regardless of how history remembers it, there were two winners last night — plus the millions of viewers who caught a few of the best jams in All-Star Weekend history.

Over the course of the contest — which went way into overtime — Gordon got a lot of help from his Magic mascot, while LaVine took one key assist from a teammate. The two were also amazing when they went at it solo.

The skywalkers ended up scoring so many perfect 50s that they needed to make up new dunks just to fill all the rounds at the end.

And now, a quick message for the NBA: Please make a LaVine and Gordon rematch mandatory next year — even if the whole event is just one-on-one. No one will complain — no one.

This weekend has been a bit of a continued coming-out party for high-flyer LaVine: Aside from technically winning the dunk contest again, he was also named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night.

The 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend is taking place in Toronto, with the All-Star Game itself airing tonight at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on TNT.
