Octavia Spencer’s Awkward Encounter With Hillary Clinton

On The Late Show, Octavia Spencer sat down with Stephen Colbert and told a story about running into a very popular lady, Hillary Clinton, during a recent fundraiser for UNICEF. Spencer was the emcee of the 12th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball. So how they meet?

“Actually, I came out of the bathroom and Hillary was there,” Spencer said. “And it was, like, oh, my God, my hands are wet, and I love you!”

“It must be interesting to run into her. It’s like running into Sasquatch: super famous but you don’t see her anyplace,” Colbert said. “Did you ask how she was?”

“I just told her I love her,” Spencer replied, and Colbert remarked, “She looks happy. As much as you might want to be president, it’s a hard job.”

“I know,” Spencer said. “I just kind of wish things were different, but we will learn, won’t we?”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
