Corbin Bernsen will be on hand to bid farewell to his mother Jeanne Cooper -- and Katherine Chancellor, the woman she played -- when "The Young and the Restless" says goodbye to Chancellor with a memorial service next month.

The soap opera will air a two-part memorial service for Chancellor starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, CBS said Tuesday. Former "L.A. Law" star Bernsen, Cooper's real-life son, will preside over the ceremony, as he reprises the role of Father Todd Williams.

The network also released a photo of Bernsen-as-Williams on Tuesday.

In addition to Bernsen donning the white collar, the memorial service will include appearances from Lauralee Bell, Tricia Cast, Beau Kazer, Adrienne Frantz, Patty Weaver and Michael Damian. Damian will perform the song "That's When I'll Stop Loving You," which aired during May's tribute episode to Cooper.

Cooper, who starred on "The Young & the Restless" for more than four decades, died in May at age 84.

As repeated earlier by TheWrap, the soap will pay tribute to Cooper during a multi-episode arc dealing with Chancellor's death. Over a series of episodes, loved ones will receive postcards asking them to gather at the Chancellor Estate, at which point it will be revealed that Chancellor passed away with her husband Murphy.

"It's time for the characters of Genoa City to say their goodbyes to Katherine, and while it's heartbreaking for everyone involved, we hope our viewers will find it a fitting tribute to both an irreplaceable character and the amazing woman who portrayed her," series executive producer Jill Farren Phelps said. "Katherine had some final surprises up her sleeve that will be revealed at the service and we think everyone will come away with smiles on their faces."
