Fox’s Rake premiered on Thursday night to 7 million total viewers and a 1.7 demo rating (per finals), demonstrating about 50 percent retention out of American Idol (12.4 mil/3.4).
Rake — which TVLine readers gave an average grade of “C+” — was up versus Glee’s most recent performance (3.3 mil/1.1 leading out of X Factor), but fell shy of Glee’s demo delivery the last time it aired after Idol (6 mil/2.0). Rake was on par with Touch‘s final aprés-Idol outing (6 mil/1.7), and… that’s about all I got.
The aforementioned Idol slipped 10 and 13 percent week-to-week.
Over on NBC, Community’s send-off for Troy (3 mil/1.1) and Parks and Recreation (3 mil/1.2) were both flat. Airing a half hour later, Sean Saves the World (2.6 mil/0.7) dipped a tenth, while Michael J Fox (2.2 mil/0.7) and Parenthood (4.3 mil/1.3) each ticked up a tenth.
The CW’s 100th episode of Vampire Diaries (2.7 mil/1.2) was up in audience from its fall finale and rose a tenth in the demo, while Reign (1.7 mil/0.6) was flat.
ABC’s The Taste (3.9 mil/1.1) rose 18 percent and two tenths.
