"Game of Thrones" actor Peter Dinklage is once again up for an Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy, but last week, on the morning the nominations came out, he was away from the phone.
"I was actually outside, walking around," Peter told Access Hollywood at Comic-Con last Friday. "I'd forgotten about it. Not to sound jaded or anything, because I'm not. ... I came back home and then I start getting messages from friends and stuff - 'Oh. Yeah. Oh my God! Cool! Thanks! Cool!' - and then you go on the interweb. ... It's nice."
In the run up to the Emmys, which take place on Sunday, September 22 at 8 ET/5 PT in Los Angeles, Peter will be filming Season 4 of "Game of Thrones."
On Sunday, he flew to the Belfast set, where he noted it was "all systems go for Season 4."
One of the highlights of Season 3 was watching Peter's character, Tyrion, engage in some deep moments with his father, Tywin (Charles Dance), and fans can expect more scenes with the Lannister kin when the show returns next year. There is also an outside project in the works for the men.
"He's incredible. I've always been a fan of his before meeting him. He's just a true gentleman," Peter said of Charles. "We have the greatest conversations on and off set over dinners and things, and we're trying to get another project off the ground -- him and I, separate from 'Game of Thrones.' That's how much we like working with each other, but we'll see what happens with that. I have high hopes. ... And anybody who reads the books, who has read the books knows we have some interesting things coming up this season between father and myself."
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO next year.
