Neil Patrick Harris' transformation into Count Olaf for Netflix's upcoming adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is impressive to say the least, but it's just one of several disguises the Emmy winner sports in the first official trailer for the series.
Released Thursday, the footage from the highly anticipated eight-episode series shows Harris deep in the character of Count Olaf, the evil guardian of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus and Sunny - who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. As the children manage to evade Count Olaf's scheming attempts to steal their fortune, they begin to pick up clues about their parents' past. However, Count Olaf is determined to get what he wants.
"Wherever you go, I will hunt you down," he tells the children ominously in the trailer.
Based on the international best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), the series also stars Patrick Warburton (as Snicket himself), Joan Cusack, Alfre Woodard, Catherine O'Hara, Aasif Mandvi and Don Johnson among others.
The eight-episode series is produced by Netflix and hails from exec producers Barry Sonnenfeld and Handler.
