Nate Corddry To Co-Star In Chuck Lorre’s CBS Pilot ‘Mom’, Amanda Lund In NBC’s Craig Robinson Comedy

EXCLUSIVE: Nate Corddry (Harry’s Law, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip) has been tapped as the male lead in Chuck Lorre’s CBS comedy pilot Mom. The multi-camera project, which Lorre co-wrote on spec with two members of his Two And A Half Men team — executive producer Eddie Gorodetsky and story editor Gemma Baker — stars Anna Faris as Christy, a newly sober single mom who tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley. Corddry, repped by WME and the Group Entertainment, will play Gabriel, Christy’s good-looking, married restaurant manager boss. Allison Janney co-stars as Christy’s mom. Corddry, who was pursued for multiple pilots, will next be seen in the features The Heat, In Lieu Of Flowers and Girl Most Likely and voices a regular role on the new Disney XD animation series Tron: Uprising.

Amanda Lund has landed the female lead opposite Craig Robinson in NBC’s single-camera starring The Office regular and executive produced by The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Owen Ellickson, who wrote the script. The untitled project centers on talented musician Craig (Robinson) with rough edges who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school, where he encounters teacher politics and the temptations of single moms. Lund, repped by WME and 3 Arts, will play perky and earnest fellow teacher Elizabeth, who is a strong believer that the best way to teach students is by constant and unwavering positive reinforcement and has a hard time relating to Craig’s loose and self-motivated behavior. The pilot hails from Universal TV, Deedle Dee Prods and 3 Arts, with Tracy Katsky, Howard Klein and Mark Schulman also exec producing and Robinson serving as producer. Lund was previously attached to CBS’ midseason comedy Friend Me, which has not been scheduled and is eyeing a summer burnoff run.
