Kim Kardashian revealed on Sunday’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians that she’s considering using a surrogate for her attempt at baby No. 3 with husband Kanye West.
Kim’s doctor arranged a meeting with Natalie Gerber, a mother who used a surrogate, to calm Kim’s fears of emotional detachment. A somber Kim said, “My bond with my kids is so strong. I think my biggest fear is just that, like, if I had had a surrogate, I just don’t know, would I love them the same? That’s the main thing that I keep on thinking about.”
Gerber reassured Kim that those are normal fears but that she shouldn’t let them overcome her. Kim went on to explain that she doesn’t want to “take the easy way out” when it comes to motherhood, all while Gerber encouraged the worried mother that all these fears are natural.
“There’s not a day where I have any thought that my love for my kids is different, that my connection to my kids is different,” Gerber told her. “You get to carry one and have them close to you, but then the other is because you so desperately wanted them in your family.”
But in the end, it’s not Kim’s decision to make alone, and luckily she’s got all the support she needs for a big choice like this.
