Bron Studios has enlisted an A-list cast for the upcoming drama Monster.
Roots actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. will lead an ensemble that includes Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, as well as recording artists A$AP Rocky and Nas.
Tim Blake Nelson, John David Washington and Jennifer Ehle will also star, along with Hunger Games star Jeffery Wright.
Monster follows Steve (Harrison), a 17-year-old honors student and aspiring filmmaker in Harlem, who is being charged with felony murder for a crime he says he didn't commit.
Monster will be the feature directorial debut for Anthony Mandler, who has been a longtime collaborator of Rihanna's and has helmed music videos for the likes of Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey and Drake.
Bron Studios is joining forces with Tonik Productions and John Legend's Get Lifted Film Co. for the feature, which is being repped by WME Global.
Aaron L. Gilbert will produce, along with Nikki Silver, Tonya Lewis Lee, Mike Jackson and Edward Nahem. Daniel Crown, Yoni Liebling, Jason Cloth, Richard McConnell and Linnea Roberts will act as executive producers.
Nas and Legend will also executive produce the feature, and will also play a role in the film's music.
Bron Studios is in theaters this weekend with Nate Parker's The Birth of a Nation and will soon release Denzel Washington's awards contender Fences, out Dec. 16.
