Now that the world has NeNe Leakes and Lisa Vanderpump, former "Melrose Place" star Grant Show says there's no room for Amanda Woodward and Sydney Andrews.
The actor, who now stars on Lifetime's "Devious Maids," stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday, where he dished on his new show and the current state of TV.
"Is this going to be 'Melrose'-esque," Kit Hoover, a self-confessed major "Melrose" fan, asked Grant about his new drama.
"I don't think there's a place for 'Melrose anymore," the 51-year-old actors said.
"I think we go to 'The [Real] Housewives of Atlanta' for that kind of pleasure now," he said, referring to Bravo's massively successful "Real Housewives" franchise.
"Scripted shows, I think, need to be a little more sophisticated than 'Melrose Place' was," he continued.
According to Grant, Marc Cherry's new racy series, "Devious Maids," fits that bill.
"I think this show is," he said of the series, which is also produced by Eva Longoria. "I think it is the evolution of what 'Melrose Place' was."
"Devious Maids" airs Sundays at 10/9c on Lifetime.
