NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Assistance’, Fox’s ‘To My Future Assistant’ Cast Trio

Peter Cambor has been cast opposite Krysten Ritter in NBC‘s single-camera comedy pilot Assistance, from Gary Sanchez Prods. and Universal TV. Written by Leslye Headland based on her play, Assistance centers on Nora (Ritter), an idealistic “working girl” assistant who is pulled between her colleague (“work husband”) and her real-life fiance (Cambor) while trying to manage a demanding boss. Cambor, repped by Paradigm, Brillstein Entertainment and Tom Hoberman, plays Jeremy, Nora’s longtime boyfriend, a recent medical school graduate. He has recurred on CBS’ NCIS: LA and recently co-starred on TBS’ The Wedding Band.

Joe Egender and Melissa Tang have landed leads in Fox‘s single-camera comedy pilot To My Future Assistant. Written by Sherry Bilsing-Graham & Ellen Kreamer, Assistant revolves around the assistants at a big New York law firm who band together as a family to help each other cope with the obnoxious overbearing bosses who test their sanity on a daily basis. Egender and Tang play two of the assistants. Egender, repped by Gartner/Green and attorney Derek Kroeger, is Roy, a sarcastic paralegal who assists the imperious Magda (Catherine O’Hara) with various and sundry unpleasant tasks… and has a secret crush on co-worker/law firm assistant Jen. He wrote, produced and is starring in the indie Holy Ghost People which premieres at SXSW. Tang, repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Artist Management, plays Claire, a young assistant at the firm who willingly volunteers for the most odious chores and is always super cheery — until she gets promoted. She co-stars on Fox’s The Goodwin Games, which is not going forward.
