Beyonce is currently in the middle of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour, but the superstar took some time out for an interview in which she opened up about being a mother and talked about her one-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
In an interview that aired Monday on ABC's Good Morning America, the 31-year-old singer/actress said it is her "biggest job in the world" to protect her daughter.
"And I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life," she said. "In the back of my mind, she's my priority. And life is completely different now. So I'm -- I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that's to be her mother."
The Grammy Award winner also talked about how appearing in the upcoming animated movie Epic had special meaning because she was pregnant at the time. "You know, I was so honored when they asked for me to do this role... and I thought, you know, by the time this comes out my daughter will understand it's my voice, and what an incredible, cool point."
Beyonce called her role as Queen Tara in the movie "beautiful" and said the film has a lot of depth. "You know, it's so emotional. And I literally, I was crying when I did the voiceover," she said. "And it was the first thing I did after giving birth. And there's a scene where I pick the pod. And literally there were tears falling."
She also revealed plans to expand her family with husband Jay-Z. "I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister."
In other Beyonce and Blue news, the diva reportedly had her daughter come up on stage during her Saturday show at London's O2 Arena. Check out the video, below (Blue Ivy comes in towards the end):
