New CEO of 'Empire' Revealed
On Wednesday’s Empire, the board of directors finally offered the much-coveted position of CEO of Empire. Each member of the Lyon family has been vying to be CEO. Hakeem had a short stint at the head of the record company. In a previous episode, Lucious took it upon himself to intimidate any person who might toss their hat into the ring. Cookie even teamed up with Lucious to help manage the investors to get close to the powerful position.
All of the scheming led to the final scene of this week’s episode. Cookie and Lucious were approached by members of the board, who offered them the positions of Co-CEOs, meaning they’d split the responsibilities down the middle. Cookie wasn’t sure how to react but Lucious instantly accepted.
The two embraced in celebration, but Lucious quickly looked into the camera and ominously said, “Congratulations, baby. I got your back.”
Empire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
