"How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris will host the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards on CBS this September, it was announced on Wednesday.
"I couldn't be more honored and excited to be hosting this year's Emmy Awards," Neil said in a statement, before referencing another of his hosting gigs - the Tonys, which he will helm on June 9, also on CBS.
"And what perfect timing - I'll just do the exact same script I'm about to use for the Tonys. 'And the Emmy for Best Revival of a Musical goes to 'Breaking Bad!' See, told you it works," he added.
In addition to his Emmys hosting duties, the actor will also produce the show, set to be broadcast from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 22.
This will be Neil's second time as host of the awards show. He previously hosted the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards in 2009.
"Neil is the quintessential host - engaging, entertaining and a true showman - with a passion for celebrating the medium we all love. We're thrilled for him to return for CBS's broadcast of the Emmy Awards," Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Last year, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the program when it was on ABC.
