Natalie Portman Embarrassed by Video of Her Childhood Music Group on ‘Corden’

Natalie Portman joined James Corden on The Late Late Show Wednesday, and the host brought up a long-lost memory for the longtime performer. When Portman was a child, she auditioned for and joined a singing group called the World Patrol, which sang songs about protecting the environment. Though it was around 25 years ago, Portman, now 35, still remembers some of the words and treated Corden and the audience to a small taste of what the World Patrol did.

“Recycle it. Reuse it. Reduce it,” Portman sang.

After playing coy for a brief moment, as Corden tends to do, he showed a clip of Portman with the World Patrol. In the video, Portman can be seen in a music video by the group, at one point as part of a choreographed dance, and at another, recording a song in a studio in which she sings about wheat and grass. Corden was so impressed with her singing voice, he questioned when she’ll star in a big musical.
