‘Nashville’ Sneak Peek: Juliette Visits Rayna in the Hospital
Things certainly looked grim for Rayna James at the end of last week’s Nashville: After escaping from a hostage situation with her stalker, the country music queen climbed into the back of a squad car, which proceeded to drive her directly into a traffic accident. A promo that aired immediately following the episode suggested that her life hung in the balance, as her friends and family descended on the hospital. But this exclusive clip from the Feb. 23 episode, “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” suggests that Rayna has received a stay of vehicular-related execution — for now.

Not that she’s in the best shape, mind you. When Juliette barges into her label head’s hospital room, she finds Rayna sporting some mental and physical scars from her second car accident in five seasons. It’s something new that these former rivals can bond over, with Juliette still moving about on crutches following her plane crash. And just like Juliette, it sounds like Rayna might be facing a long road to recovery, one that could require her to take an extended leave of absence from her hometown … and give Connie Britton the chance to explore her pilot options?
Nashville airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on CMT.
