The Muppets Meet Stars of 'Scandal,' 'Castle,' and 'The Middle' in New Promos

If you think you’re excited about the Muppets returning to primetime television on ABC this fall, the network’s stars are even more psyched. To celebrate the launch of The Muppets on Sept. 22, ABC has released three new promos that feature select members of Kermit’s motley Muppet crew sharing the screen with some of their new network colleagues. In the above clip, for example, The Middle star Patricia Heaton scopes out a craft service table curated by resident gourmand, the Swedish Chef. “Are any of these organic?” she asks, getting a full blast of hilarious (but not exactly helpful) “Swedish” patter in return.

Meanwhile, confirming reports that she and Kermit are definitely splitsville, Miss Piggy celebrates her independence by taking a long, lingering look at Nathan Fillion’s backside. “It’s super-distracting,” the porcine beauty tells Castle’s leading man, who promptly apologizes and shuffles away.

Scandal’s Kerry Washington gets an Arctic blast of the frostiness in the former couple’s relationship when Piggy deliberately stomps all over Kermit’s line and flounces off in a full-on diva snit-fit. Washington starts to lend the forlorn frog a shoulder to cry on, but can’t resist going in for a selfie. That’s Reason #1,523 why it isn’t easy being green.

The Muppets premieres Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
