MTV Movie Awards, Video Music Awards Get 2014 Dates

The MTV Movie Awards will air live next year on April 13, MTV said Wednesday.

The network also announced that its other long-running ceremony, the MTV Music Video Awards, will air live on August 24.

The MTV Movie Awards, which had previously aired in June, were moved up to April this year, to better position them in front of the summer movie season.

Like this year's MTV Video Music Awards, which air live on Aug. 25, the 2014 ceremony is scheduled to bookend the summer, airing on the last Sunday before Labor Day weekend.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards will mark the ceremony's 30th anniversary, and will air from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, marking the first time that the ceremony takes place in the borough.
