Mo’Nique’s Confusing Segregation Comparison

Mo’Nique was on “Access Hollywood Live” Tuesday amidst rumors that she had been blackballed from Hollywood for being too demanding during the promotion of her film “Precious” in 2009. The Oscar-winning actress insists she hasn’t been blackballed, and feels it was unfair for her to be expected to campaign for the movie during awards season for free just because it’s common practice. She then compared her situation to the anti-segregation movement, “Well, if we can all remember, it was standard at one time - there were black bathrooms and white bathrooms. That was standard. One time it was standard, when you went to a water fountain, you could drink out of the black water fountain or the white water fountain, depending on what color you were. That was standard. Until some like minded people got together and said, ‘Guys this doesn’t make sense,’ and it was changed.”
