‘Moana’ Will Make Its World Premiere At AFI Fest

Prior to opening during Thanksgiving weekend on November 23, Disney’s animated title Moana will have its world premiere at AFI Fest. The pic starring Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson joins the fest’s list of special screenings that also includes the world premiere of EuropaCorp’s Miss Sloane and the previously announced Sony Pictures Classics title The Comedian from Taylor Hackford.

Also announced in the special screenings section is the Alexis Bloom-Fisher Stevens documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, which had its world premiere at Cannes. Other special screenings include Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson, Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann, and Garth Davis’ Lion.

AFI Fest runs November 10-17 and will open with the world premiere of Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply.
