Michelle Obama Co-Hosts Star-Studded ‘Ellen’

First lady Michelle Obama was co-host for a day on Ellen, alongside, you guessed it, Ellen DeGeneres. The pair kicked off the show in typical fashion. “And now the first lady of the United States and the first lady of daytime television shall dance,” said Obama as the music kicked in. “We shall dance!” echoed DeGeneres.

It was a star-studded affair. Bradley Cooper came out to take a selfie, a skill he first perfected at the 2014 Oscars. Cooper then talked about a questionable choice he made while attending a state dinner at the White House. “I only had one tuxedo and it didn’t fit, and then I was so nervous that it wouldn’t fit, and so I decided at the last minute to 86 the underwear,” Cooper admitted. “Because you know if it should rip, it’s much better to not have underwear on,” teased DeGeneres. “For us,” added the first lady. “It’s good for us, right, ladies?”

Also along for the ride was NBA star Stephen Curry. The Warriors guard is teaming with Michelle Obama and Britta water filters to encourage families to drink more water. Obama and DeGeneres then played a game that was basically just an excuse to drop water balloons on Curry’s head.

All in all, it was a fun-filled afternoon with the first lady, who reflected on her eight years in the White House. She said she is optimistic about the future of the country. “I just wish everybody had the opportunity to travel the country like we have had, because you would feel good every day about where we live,” said Obama. “This is the best country on earth.”
