ABC has put in development Housesitters, a multi-camera comedy starring and executive produced by Michael Bolton. Written/executive produced by comedy veteran Ricky Blitt, Housesitters, starring Bolton, is described as a modern-day Three’s Company meets Two Broke Girls. The project hails from Gail Berman’s The Jackal Group and ABC Studios. Berman also is executive producing, with Todd Graner, Tom Mullen and Tim Mullen serving as producers.

Bolton’s famous stint in Saturday Night Live‘s Captain Jack Sparrow digital short has led to comedy acting stints for the Grammy-winning singer, including a recurring role as himself on Two and a Half Men. ABC has been interested in developing a starring comedy vehicle for him and first took a stab at that with Michael Bolton’s Daughter Is Destroying My Life during the 2012-13 season, which didn’t go to pilot stage.

Housesitters reunites Berman and Blitt. As president of entertainment at Fox, she gave Blitt his first pilot order for Becoming Glen, starring Johnny Galecki, which was followed by another pilot they did together, Why Blitt.

Berman also recently reunited with Josh Schwartz, whose first pilot, The O.C. she developed and greenlighted at Fox, for Horrorstör, a horror dramedy, which has received a put pilot commitment at Fox.
