Megyn Kelly Stunned and Amused When Donald Trump Brings Up Past Controversies, Including One With Her

With his campaign mired in controversy, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a curious decision at a Daytona Beach rally on Wednesday. He decided to recount several controversies from months earlier. His claim that “thousands” of New Jersey Muslims celebrated 9/11, his perceived mockery of New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, and his comment about Megyn Kelly having “blood coming out of her wherever” were among the items brought up.

On her show, The Kelly File, the aforementioned Fox News anchor was clearly amazed Trump would rehash these stories. “What is he doing relitigating every controversy from the primary season?” she asked Ben Domenech, publisher of The Federalist, and attorney and Trump supporter David Wohl.

Among the things Kelly found amusing was Trump seemingly acting like the addition of ramps to his buildings for people with disabilities was a charitable gesture on his part, and not a requirement. “Nobody is better to people with disabilities than me. I spend millions and millions of dollars on buildings taking care of people with disabilities,” Trump exclaimed at his rally. “The fact that Trump has put ramps in his buildings is required by law,” said Kelly. “He doesn’t get extra credit for that. You have to!” When Wohl replied, “But they’re very expensive buildings, let me tell you,” Kelly buried her head in her hands and said, “Oh, good God.”

Kelly seemed to agree with the long-stated Trump assertion that the “mainstream media” has a vendetta against the GOP candidate. However, she said Trump should blame himself too. “It’s true, that’s what they do,” she opined. “It’s true that the mainstream media now hates Trump. They loved him during the primary season, they wanted him to run against Hillary. They got their wish. Now suddenly the critical coverage begins. But, but! Must he help them? Must he help them so generously every day?”
