Megyn Kelly Reveals Why She Wants Donald Trump Back on Her Show After One-on-One Sit-Down: 'It's Very Difficult to Count Him Out'

Megyn Kelly's highly anticipated interview with Donald Trump is just weeks away from hitting airwaves, but their big sit-down on Fox may not be the last time the two appear together on television.

"I asked him if he would take a meeting with me because I think we had enough of what was going on," Kelly told Extra on Tuesday of why she decided to meet with Trump, 69, and put an end to their intense, public feuding.

"It was a chance to sort of clear the air and get back on solid footing so we could go forward, I hope in a more positive way," she added. "And perhaps he'll come on The Kelly File from time to time."

Trump publicly attacked the Fox host, 45, for nearly a year following her questioning of him at the GOP presidential debate in August.

"I think at this point it's very likely he's going to win the nomination," she said when asked about his chances of winning the presidency.

"Trump has made fools out of a lot of people who have discounted him and underestimated him," she acknowledged. "I think it's very difficult to count him out. You never know what to expect, I can attest to that."

Megyn Kelly Presents airs May 17 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. Extended portions of the sit-down will air on The Kelly File at 9 p.m. ET on May 18.
